On Off

The idea starts from a 'gravity' switch-socket (originally used in freezers) which offers original qualities of relation for a lamp: the unit is turned on or off not with a control positioned along the wire, but by changing the position of the entire luminous body with the simple gesture of one hand.
A green LED makes it easy to find the lamp in the dark.
Since 1994 part of the Design Collection of the Museum of Modern Art of New York.
